Quick Update!

I just wanted to update and let you know (if you don't have it already) that we have started a new blog just for Rebekah and information about her Truncus Arteriosus.  You can read about her cardiology appointment at her blog www.rebekahgraceellis.blogspot.com.  As of about 6:30 this morning, we already had almost 1500 hits on the blog, and we have only given out the address for two days! This little girl has prayer support from all over the country! :)

Brenham's Hat Project

A really sweet blog friend of mine, Katie, lost her first son last year on Leap Day.  She is learning how to crochet to make baby hats to take to the hospital in honor of Brenham's first birthday.    Katie would love for anyone to make a baby hat that she could take with her to the NICU in honor of Brenham.  You are welcome to knit, crochet, sew or anything else.  If you are interested, click on the link on the right side of the blog and let Katie know that you are joining her project!  Since I so rarely get to make anything girly, my hat is Powder Puff Pink.  I'll post a picture when it's done.  :)

Choffy

Never heard of it??  Well, where have you been?  Just kidding; until tonight, I had never heard of Choffy either.  BUT, now that I have heard of it, I think it's going to top this year's Christmas list!!

Tsh over at Simple Mom is giving away two bags of Choffy this week, and it sounds yummy!  What, you ask, is Choffy?  Well, simply put, it is brewed chocolate...think coffee meets chocolate (minus the coffee).  Brewed hot cocoa...full of antioxidants...full of iron...full of magnesium...and the best part?  Caffeine FREE!!  What could get better than that?  Except, you know, actually having some of my very own to drink! :)

Not Me! Monday

I know it's been a while since I've played along with MckMama's Not Me! Monday, but this Monday deserves a post all on it's own!

I did not wake up this morning shortly after 6:00 to the tune of Caleb crying.  I further did not go downstairs, make a bottle, come upstairs to get Caleb to give him said bottle only to peek into his crib and find him sound asleep!  No way, that would never happen to me!

I did not go back to bed hoping for a few more minutes of sleep only to be awakened again by Zachary and Justin loudly whispering and banging in their room at 7:05.  The rule in our house is that all children (insert Zachary and Justin) must stay in bed until 7:30 to avoid waking up Caleb and/or Aaron.  So, since the boys were already up (and stripping the sheets off their bed for cleaning day), I told them to quietly go downstairs and read books until 7:30.  Five minutes later, I did not hear clattering and clanging.....When I went to investigate, I found that they had matchbox cars out and were racing them off a ramp built from wooden blocks.  Books?????

I went back upstairs intending to start cleaning my bedroom and bathroom and was not interrupted again by Justin.  He most certainly did not tell me that while he was in the downstairs bathroom, Aaron came in and did not stand there and wet his pants.  All. over. my. bathroom. floor.  No, that certainly did not happen because my children know better than to do something like that.  Must have been the neighbor's kids.

By 9:30 this morning, I did not check 3 throats and take two temperatures for my sick boys.  I do not have one sick little boy who will be having blood work done at the end of this week unless he shows significant improvement in the next 3 days.

And I did not  just recap the first 3 hours of my day for you all.  Seriously, I hope you did not have a morning like mine! :)

Random Picture Challenge

This weeks Random Picture comes from August 2007.  Brittany at 4 little men and girly twins (actually, Brittany's son) chose picture #30.  Here it is!

On this particular day, the boys had decided to play camping (in anticipation of an upcoming camping trip in September).  Zachary would have been 5 and 1/2, Justin was a month from his 4th birthday, and Aaron was 1 and 1/2.  They dragged pillows, blankets and teddy bears into our - of all places - downstairs powder room and "camped" complete with sunglasses!  I just had to get a picture when they were being so cute!

Random Picture Challenge

Brittany over at 4 little men and girly twins has started a Random Picture Challenge on Saturdays.  She picks a month and a number, and you go to that month's picture file and that number of picture in the file and post it along with a description.  This week was January #8 (the 8th picture in the January file).

Being that I am on top of everything and oh, so organized (ahem), my January 2009 folder is empty.  All of our January pictures are still, ummmm, on the camera.

So, I went to my January 2008 folder and chose the 8th picture.  Which, ironically, was taken on January 17, 2008 (same date as today!).  It snowed beautiful white fluffy flakes that piled up about an inch and a half.  It was the only snow for last year, and tragically was mostly slush by the time the kids woke up in the morning.  :(  So, all the kids were able to do was look at the pictures we took.  *sigh*  Maybe it will snow this year.....

Give Aways

A couple of my  blogger friends have gotten into the holiday spirit with contests for free stuff on their blogs.  Brittany is giving away a One Step Ahead Tummy Time Safari Mat for babies.  It is super cute and would be a great addition to our baby collection!  If you know of anyone who would be interested, just hop on over to her blog and leave a comment under this post here to enter the contest.  It would be perfect for a Christmas or shower gift, or to keep for yourself!

And MckMama is giving away Canon Digital Rebel XSi prize package!  This is a camera that I would love to get my hands on, one way or another!  :)  Plus, all donations made (suggested donation is $10/raffle ticket) benefit 3 charities that are super special.  String of Pearls is an organization to help parents deal with a fatal diagnosis for their child before or shortly after birth.  The other two organizations, No Hands But Ours and The Ellison Project support and assist in adoptions of special needs children from China.  So, if you are interested in a way-super-cool camera (with lots of extras) as well as benefiting some great charities, check out this post by MckMama here.  Or, click on the Canon Rebel icon on the right side bar of my blog to enter.

Fryday Contest

One of my favorite blogs to read in all of blog-land is My Charming Kids by MckMama.  She is now the proud mother of 4 small children, known in blog-land as Big Mac, MckNugget, Small Fry and MckMuffin.  The youngest, MckMuffin, was given no chance to live in utero, but is now alive and thriving!  Anyway, MckMama is having a contest to give away a free custom-designed blog header and some cool camera stuff.  All I have to do is link back to her blog!  :)  So here you go, MckMama!  Love your blog!!!

New look!

In honor of fall, I decided to change my background!  What do you think?  It's different from my previous one, but I like it lot!

Tomorrow (Saturday) we are planning to do some chores, finish the laundry and maybe bake some cookies.  For now, I am really tired and ready for bed....

Not Me! Monday

Well, I thought I was doing pretty well this week as far as "not" doing anything to crazy - until....

I did not lock my keys in my van while grocery shopping Saturday morning!  It only took about 20 minutes for my husband (and 3 kids!) came to bail me out! :)

I did not make four DOZEN sheep cookies (!) for Zachary's class on Sunday afternoon.  Bleat, bleat, bleat......

I currently do not have more laundry than couch space in my living room right this very minute.....

And, I am not sitting on the small space of couch left blogging while ignoring said laundry! :)

Y'all have a great week!

By the way, you can check MckMama's website here for more Not me! Mondays.

Tagged!

I was tagged by Brittany!

“7 Things About Me” … i.e. blogging about 7 things you may not know about me.

The rules:
1. Post the rules on your blog.
2. Write 7 random things about yourself.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post.
4. Pass on the tag.

1.  I have moved 10 times and lived in 4 states - IN, TN, GA, and SC.
2.  When I was younger, I used to tell people that I wanted 12 children.  Still sounds kind of fun! :)
3.  I have more projects on my to-do list than I will have time for in the next five years!
4.  I love to sew, crochet, cross-stitch and scrapbook when I have the time (which is not very often!).
5.  I rarely paint my toenails....my husband thinks it's disgusting! :)
6.  My favorite author is Karen Kingsbury, followed closely by Beverly Lewis.
7.  I absolutely LOVE fall....which means Christmas is right around the corner!

Now, I tag anyone else who wants to play....just post a link in the comments to your blog, and I'll read your list!

Not Me! Monday

Yippee!!  It's time for Not Me! Monday again!  As always, you can read the original Not Me! Monday post on MckMama's website here.

I did not vacuum the house for twenty minutes in hopes that Caleb would finally give in and go to sleep without his pacifier.  It didn't work, but at least my house got vacuumed! :)

I most certainly did not wait until my MSC (Many Small Children) were safely sleeping in their beds to sneak over to my neighbor's house while she was out to dinner to see what kind of landscaping she has paid to put in on the opposite side of her house.  And, while I was sneaking through her backyard with just a keychain flashlight, her motion sensor lights absolutely did not come on lighting up her backyard for the rest of the neighborhood to see!  And knowing said lights came on (obviously!), I did not keep on sneaking around to the other side of the house to look at her landscaping!  I mean, if I did things like that, which obviously I *don't*, what kind of neighbor would I be??? ;)

I did not lose Caleb under a pile of clean laundry in my living room when he rolled over into the laundry basket and pulled clothes down!  No way!!  Who has that much clean laundry piled up and not folded???

Glad not much happened at my house this week!  Y'all have a good week!

Not Me!

Okay, so it's Monday again, and time for the world at large to know everything that I didn't do this week!  Also, if you want to read more Not Me!'s, feel free to check out MckMama's blog here.

I did not splurge and have ice cream on Thursday night with Drew because I knew that I would not be nursing for several hours while on Zachary's field trip Friday.  Nope, not me!  Thankfully, Caleb does fine with a bottle!

And I did not let Aaron run around the house in only his underwear on Thursday afternoon because he came in the house covered with sand from the sandbox and I stripped his clothes off.  And the reason he was just in underwear?  It was so much easier than getting yet another outfit for him to wear for a couple of hours till he took a shower!

Furthermore, I did not bribe Justin with a hash brown and chocolate milk (his favorite McBreakfast) so that he would let the nurse prick his finger and draw blood at his check-up this morning.  Who in the world would do something like that????

And, I most certainly am not going to have to quickly make up for lost time in my house cleaning today because I've been blogging about Not Me Monday!  Nope, I would never do something like that!

Not Me! Monday

So, this is week two of Not Me! Monday which can be found on MckMama's website here.  This week.....

I did not make my sweet hubby a grilled tuna sandwich without the tuna.  Nope, not me!

I did not almost let Justin stay home from school on Friday because it was cool and rainy and I SO did not want to get out of bed to take him.  Cooler heads prevailed, though, and he made it to school on time.

I did not cheat and eat a very itsy, bitsy piece of cheese pizza because it sounded so good and I really, really wanted a taste of pizza!  (For those of you who don't know, I am not supposed to have dairy products because my sweet little baby has a dairy allergy.).

And, finally, I did not promise myself all day that if I finished my cleaning, I could post my Not Me! Monday post.  Well, I almost finished.  :)

Not Me! Monday

Okay, so one of my favorite blogs in the entire world has just started a "Not Me! Monday." It's a great chance to tell all of the things we did (not) do for the previous week.  I have laughed so hard at some of the posts already, and it's not even Monday!  :)  You can read the original "Not Me! Monday post on MckMama's website here.

I did not spend almost all week trying to clean my house only to start all over again tomorrow.

I did not let Aaron run around the house with his toy gun AND no clothes on so I could get a picture of him "bare" hunting.

And the winner this week, I most certainly did NOT put only 4 candles on my now-five-year-old son's birthday cake and bring it to the table, only to have my 6 year old NOT tell me, "Mom, you forgot one of Justin's candles!"

Nope, not me!

Here Goes.....

Well, here goes my first attempt at blogging! I am *trying* to be faithful to post on a fairly regularly basis so that you all can keep up with the boys and what we have been doing. Check back to see how often I manage to post updates! :)
